I did this on LoveMustangs.com and thought this would be good for Mach 1 Club as well.

I was out to breakfast one morning with some of the people in my Mustang club.

While there I met an interesting man named Chuck.
I had seen this man at many of the different events with the car clubs in Arizona over the last 3-4 years. I sort of ignored that man because he is in his late 70's and is on oxygen. I'm the type that doesn't like to get to know people if I'm afraid they wont be around long. Maybe its the reality of my own mortality. Sad

Anyway it is obvious this man was a smoker and probably doesn't have many more years left. His lips are blue and his skin is pale, and then there's that oxygen attached to his nose and face, with a tank he has to cart around everywhere, gingerly. He looks tired, but the brain is still very alert and his eyes sparkle when he tells his memories of time gone by. In the short 2 hours or so we ate together I was amazed at the stories this guy had, and there was no way he was making this stuff up.

He remembers the first Mustang he ever saw when he was in his teens at the dealership in Michigan, he was awestruck the first time he saw the bright red 1964 Mustang, he didn't know what the car was, and had to take a closer look!
Can you imagine seeing the Ford Mustang for the very first time within a few days of it being launched, and he still owns that exact one today, and it's in as good of condition as the day it rolled out of the assembly line. I've seen the car many times and it is beautiful. Wish I had a picture, maybe Ill get one, I just didn't really want to give away who this man is beyond his first name.

Chuck went on to tell me that his love of Mustangs affected him from that moment on. He went on to work for Ford Motor Company in the proving grounds and was a race car driver at Lemans that hit a wall at 130 mph and he lived.
He says he is personal friends with Carroll Shelby and they talk often. Shock

So the point of this story is that, there are many interesting and fascinating people out there that have a story about the Ford Mustang. Luckily for me I had the chance to speak with this man named Chuck. I got a chance to experience some stories I might not have had a chance to otherwise, mostly because I looked from a distance and made the wrong impressions.

We know you love the Ford Mustang Mach 1 so we would love to hear your story too. If you could include any photos when possible that would be perfect!!

If you own a Ford Mustang we know you Love Mustangs! The Ford Mustang has been affecting people for nearly 50 years!

So this thread and idea is dedicated to Chuck.

Sometimes we have to look beyond the obvious. Cause when we do we get to experience life from a new perspective. Great story. JTS 71 Mach1

Funny you should say That as I am attracted to the so called older crowd. All my friends are in their 60s and 70s.They all have good stories and neat cars stashed away somewhere and my 1968 galaxie came to me this way.
