My 72 351cj , is currantly running a spreabore edelbrock intake and carb 625 cfm. What runs best for you guys, Holley 4150 straight bore, factory spreadbore with carb. ?
the cam is a bit hotter than stock, compression is 9.0. I'm also running headers.
Thanks

Fuel injection runs best for me.Im sure you probably dont want to go that route but Im surer some will chime in with a better option for you.

I was never a fan of the spread bore design as it causes poor fuel distribution, Naughty back half richer then the front. I myself ran several different carbs, Holley4150, a Holley 750 DPer, a Holley 780 Spread bore, and a Carter AFB Squarebore 650 cfm. (which is virtually identicle to an Edelbrock). By far the best carb was the Carter AFB. I only wish it would have been a larger CFM. By calculations my 351 C needed about 1000+ CFM (it definetly wasn't stock). The AFB ran great but you could tell there was room for more! For my money I'd buy the Edelbrock in about 750 CFM, squarebore. JTS71 Mach1

WOW
1000cfm carb on a 351 Cleveland?

Will that engine handle it if its built up enough inside?

I would think seriously about this the carb choice is always the most important.People always think bigger is better, wrong choosing the right 1 takes research and money.dont skimp on a cheap imitation.by a new one not rebuilt.I found this article hope it helps.I hope I didnt step on anyones toes here.

Yeah it was pretty radical see my post to yours about your 351. I answered that post and gave a complete description of my 351 Cleveland. JTS 71 Mach1
