Interesting that the article mentions high wattage globes when they are not required.
Standard H4's are 60/55w same as a 7" sealed beam and most older globe type headlights (at least in the UK).
The +50 +80 refers to light output, not wattage.
If you keep to the same wattage AND align the lamps correctly you won't have any problems.
