New member here. Not an owner yet but will be soon. Test drove a 2003 and fell in love but car and deal weren't quite right.
My sweetheart owns a 2011 5.0 so it will be nice to keep her in sight.

Welcome VeganSailor,
Glad to have you come aboard.
Yes, well the 2003/2004 Mach 1's are quite the car but keeping your sweatheart in sight in her 2011 5.0 may require a few add on parts!

Welcome to the site! The 03/04 Mach 1's are great cars, we have two in the family, so I'm sure you will enjoy it. Totally different ride than the more comfortable riding newer stangs (not saying thats good or bad, just different).
Don't under estimate the 03/04 Mach's. Actually you should be able to stay door to door with your girlfriend without any mods, it would be a drivers race.
Good luck with your search. Their appears to be quite a price range on the 03/04's so keep looking and you should be able to find one at a comfortable price for you.
Here is a comparison from this link:

2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (Manual) 0-60 mph 4.6 Quarter mile 13.0
2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 0-60 mph 4.5 Quarter Mile 13.0

Rare Pony - that is a nice link.
I was surprised to see the data between the 03/04 Mach 1 and the new 5.0. Definitely a driver's race!
1971 Mustang 0-60 at 5.7 seconds, and 1/4 mile at 13.6
2003 Mach 1 0-60 at 4.6 seconds, and 1/4 mile at 13
2011 5.0 0-60 at 4.5 seconds, and 1/4 mile at 13
