Hi Everyone!
I have had some experience working on old cars, rebuilt a 67 mustang in college, working on a 69 cj5 now.
My son is 10 years old, and when he turns 12, I have promised to buy him whatever old car he wants, and we will work on it over the 4 years until he turns 16. He says he wants a '72 Mach 1.
I figure this will be a great bonding experience for us, and will also teach him some respect and responsibility for some old power.
Anyway, I have a little less than a year and a half before the big birthday purchase, and we want to learn as much as we can before that so we can get it right. So thanks for giving us a forum to learn, and hopefully to buy the perfect Mach 1 for the kid.
Thanks,
Brian

Welcome to the site. Father/son projects are great, sounds like your going to get an early start with your son. I pulled my 73 convertible out of storage when my boys were 14 and 15 and they helped a lot!
Lots of good info here so join right in.

Welcome Brian,
Wow, the kid know what he wants! And I think he's pretty smart.
Joining the club was definitely a good idea for a learning experience on the car before taking the dive. All the best.

Welcome to the club. Sounds like your a good Dad teaching a kid about a car will be great for him later in life. You've also planted the seeds for a future car show enthusiast!
Glad your here jump on in dont be shy!
If I were you I would find a Mach as soon as you can, they are not getting cheaper.
