Hello there, I am new
#1
My name is Bill, I found this site while searching for a wiring diagram for my 1970 Mustang, which I have now owned since 1975. Seems my left side marker lights aren't working without the signal being depressed when the lights are on. It is not a Mach 1 or Boss or Fastback. Just a coupe I have had since high school. It has been 3 different colors, metallic Ivy Green (original), then Wimbledon White and was last repainted in 1996 to (Poppy Red-Calypso Coral-Competition Orange) your choice same color. It has some performance enhancements and I do my own work when I can. Just did quite a bit recently. It was a daily driver until about 2003 when I trusted somebody (Larry's Performance in Montebello, CA) HORRIBLE he did a crap job on it. It ran much worse than before the rebuild. Maybe I will go into it in detail on another post. Anyway hello!

Welcome Bill.

No requirement to own a Mach 1 to be part of the site. Close cousin, family resemblance, in the car family or just in love will do. Biggrin

Nice car and great history. I am not sure about your light problem. I would venture a guess in the signal switch area but others here will come along with a more educated response.

Sorry to say but along with car ownership especially over an extended period of time come horror stories as well as hero stories. Ah well, thankfully the bad can be made right.

Join on in on the fun - welcome to you and your sweet ride.

Hi Steven,
Thanks for the welcome. I also am thinking turn signal based on the wiring diagramSCo_hmmthink It wouldn't be the first time I have replaced it, and way easier than a heater core! Take care,

Bill

Welcome to the site. Nothing wrong with a Mustang coupe. The best thing I ever did to make my 73 6cyl convertible run better was to install the Petronix electronic ignition. You can't tell its converted unless you remove the distributor cap. Really made the engine idle and run a whole lot better than the original points.

There is a bright yellow 70 coupe about 8 miles from my house that I have noticed for several years. He does drive it on occassion. I've been tempted to stop and ask about it, but I restrain myself!

Rare Pony,

Maybe you can use the excuse (to yourself) that you are stopping by to invite him to check out the club. That way you aren't so tempted to try to add another pony to the corral and it may be a way of sparking interest back into the owner and his car.
