Greetings from Canada.

Looked like a great site, been browsing for awhile, but with much disabled due to being a guest, I decided to tag up and check out more.

I USED to have a few Mach 1's back in the day, 69/70/71/72, but my last was back in 96, a 70 Mach 351C 4V C6. Work, age, marriage, children - all took priorities over my beloved 'Stangs, and I simply lost touch.

Now, @ 42, I really have a hankering to get my butt back into a '71.

This was the car I regretted the most, as I never got to see it completed. It was totalled and I nearly lost my life in it. Thought I was done with these cars .... but here I am.

Hope to find a fixer upper, or one in progress.

Glad to meet you.

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome gents.

It's been years since I was really 'into' the Machs, but still hope to change that around sometime soon. I did allot of work for the president of the Mustang Owners Club of Saskatchewan (MOCS) ((nice play on words)) he really got me hugely into stangs. Mostly interior work, headliners, seat recovers, electrical, etc. Bought 2 Mach's from him ( 69 and 72) back when they were affordable. Who would have thought these cars would skyrocket to the premiums asked today? I'm just floored. Wild man Greg is no longer with us, but his passion lives on in the Club and I guess in me to an extent.

That 71 that almost did me in.

Yup, I was going pretty good. Guy pulled an illegal U turn in front of me on a faster stretch of road. I will always remember his shreeking wife looking straight at me as I just about speared their little B2000 @ 50 mph. At the last second, I swerved off the road, struck and embankment, launched the car, and struck a light standard almost a 1/3 the way up. Barrel rolled the car in mid air ( according to eye witnesses) struck a business retaining wall, rode the wall for 60 feet, a la' rail grind, and plummeted the car into the ground. Woke to the sound of a 351 on wide open throttle. Jaws of life to remove me from the car. Went into hospital with no feeling in my legs. 2 back surguries later, months and months and months in rehab, and I was as good as I was gonna get.

That was 22 years ago, and I still walk with a limp.

So .. yeah, hope to find another 71 out there that I can finish restoring. I don't want to buy someone else's completed dream, or a cash grab. My 71 was in primer, would love to get one the same to finish in Wimbledon white, 351 C 4 speed.

Ah ... memories.

Pretty stoked about this Eusa_dance
