Hello Everyone,
My name is Rob, and while I'm not new to classic cars, I am new to Mustangs. I recently purchased a 1969 Mach 1 428 cj, R code, 4speed, with all original equipment. The car was in the beginning phases of a full restoration when the original owner passed away. I'm very excited to get moving on it, but could use some guidance. The car needs both rear quarter panels. A lot of what I hear is that to do the car right, I need to find OEM or NOS quarters. Ive spent a lot of time looking, but cant find them. any thoughts?

Welcome Rob.
Glad to have you here with us.
Give Don Witt a shout at Ohio Mustang. He will fill you in on what is available and what is advisable. http://www.ohiomustang.com/
Also 1969JimMach has done quarter panel replacement and could personally advise you for the 1969. http://mach1club.com/showthread.php?tid=2216, http://mach1club.com/showthread.php?tid=2660
I spoke with a man recently who had done both on his car and he used two separate suppliers and the quality definitely varied.
Feel free to post some pictures of what you have and what you are up to. All the best.

Welcome to the site from Virginia! Sounds like a desirable 69 you picked up. Post up some pictures if you get a chance.

Welcome to the site Rob! Glad to have you. Although I do not have first hand experience with replacing panels, I do a lot of reading to help add content to this site. So with that said, I hear good things about National Parts Depot and Year One. I've also heard that it doesn't matter where you get the stuff that it all comes from the same location anyway, usually over seas since Ford does not allow for there parts to be repoped here in the USA.
Hope that helps, but I also watch My classic car with Dennis Gage and he always promotes NPD as the best place to fix up your ride.
If it were me ASK what guarantee you have at the time of purchase.
Nice car to get as a project. If this is your first Mustang welcome to the addiction!
