Hello everyone:
I just found this website and am looking forward to showing my 70 Mach 1 to everyone. I like to see other cars and projects in the works as well.
I have had five other mustangs over the years.
1. A cool 67 coup with a six cylinder was the first: She was rangoon red with a black vinyl top.
2. The second was a 1970 Mach 1, I bought it in 1980 and cruised it for years racing everyone that would race me.
3. Later on I got a 1966 GT-convertible while in the Marines stationed in California at Camp Pendleton. After my wife T-boned a guy with it one day and I collected the insurance I managed to find another 1970 Mach 1(raven black) with ram air. I drove it around North Carolina for a few years until I had to sell it and have been without joy since then(1990).
Fastforward to last fall in October when I purchased my new(old) 1970 project car Mach 1.
The current car is originally a competition yellow Mach 1 with factory tach, power steering, light package, clock, sport lamps, sport mirrors.
It came originally with a 351 2V originally but someone has replaced the top end with a set of quench 4v heads and 4 barrel carb set up.
I got it for $12,500 and it has brand new exhaust, brand new interior, brand new hooker super comp headers, brand new carb(Edlebrock 600cfm), and brand new 4 wheel disc brakes by venom, new gas tank, new tires and cobra wheels.
So far since last october of 2010 when I got it I have done the following:
Installed new fuel lines,
Installed original OEM factory A/C system
Installed brand new brass 4 core dessert cooler radiater
Installed new honeycomb rear panel
Installed original front suspension springs back into the car (Note: I hate the 1 inch lowering springs that it had on it)
Installed reconditioned Shaker assembly (Note: my car never had a shaker on the Marti report but I wanted one so I got it.)
After I finished my last semester in college last month I rewarded myself by sending the car into Colorado Mustang Specialists here in the Denver metro area where they will massage this beast and make it road worthy for my summer road trip to Texas. I gave them a 32 point work order and a large laundry list of parts needed. I plan on keeping you guys posted on the work that they do. I will include photos when I can.
Thanks guys ...I look forward to seeing all of your hotrods as well.
