Very nice. How does the car look from the front. Does the yellow show through the grill? We painted my son's 71 Maverick engine compartment yellow as well but we did paint the front of the radiator support black to blend in with the grill.
It's not too bad, the grill does a good job of keeping it dark at the front. You can only see the yellow if you look straight in and the car is so low you would have to be on your hands and knees to do that.
I'm looking for a face for the rev counter/tach, do you know where I can get one of these? My one is quite rusty.
That photo makes it look like it needs bigger tyres to fill out the back guards. It looks like the old Aussie Falcon hardtops, they were sold with skinny tyres on the back which didn't suit them.
You are right about that. Once I have raised the height a bit we are going to look into some larger rims and tyres. I was thinking of 15" x 8" on thr rear with 235 60 tyres. Not sure about the front, will have to look in to that.
For the tach face I would try Don at Ohio Mustang Supply: http://www.ohiomustang.com/ he has a lot of used supply as well as new. I would also post a WTB (Wanted to Buy) here on the forum. You may also want to PM PonyPastor and see if he has one. He is known for his quality extras.
Welcome to the site. It fascinates me to see you guys overseas with Mach 1's! I know what you guys go thru to get these cars in your country. Glad you joined the site!

Al.
Al, that is one clean and sanitary engine bay. It looks as though the battery has been moved (to the trunk I imagine) and all wiring has been hidden. Was the wiring run on the underside of the fenders? Does the car now run a 1-wire alternator or have they just hidden the voltage regulator as well. What about the starter solenoid?
Hi Steven, thanks for the interest in my car. The only items in the engine bay is the engine, radiator, brake master cylinder and servo, a screenwash bottle and the wiper motor. I can only just see a bit of wiring at the back of the engine. I will try to take some more photos for you later this week. The battery is in the trunk and I have found some of the other electrics behind the fender splash shields. Took me ages to find the horn when it stopped working. I think it now has a one wire alternator.
