Death

We had to put our Chow down today hes really been fading the past week. He was 16yrs and 5 months so he lived a long life. It doesn't however make it any easier.

Best dog ever, well at least to me. Only dog I ever had that didn't need a leash, not even if cats were around.

My brother in law tried to come in our house once to replace our hot water heater when we weren't around, my brother in law didn't get into the house. Jack called me saying Chance would not let him come in, saying he will rip my leg off if I do. He wasn't that way ever when we were around. Great, loyal, protective dog!

Not the end of the world really, in the grand scheme of things he was just a dog, but man does it hurt to put him in the truck and take him to the vet that he always hated, and then say go ahead and kill my dog please and Ill pay you 200 bucks when your done. I kept hoping he would die on his own.

So Ive been a little distracted lately dealing with him since I knew he was going to be gone soon. Sadcry Worst part about it all is I have 2 other dogs, so I get to experience this again one day. yahoo.

Ill get in the swing again, just wanted you guys to know I haven't gone anywhere just been a little distracted.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I know how you feel, you hate to play God. I had three chows, the daddy and his two pups. they were very loyal and protective dogs. I miss them very much. I now have two Siberian huskies which are useless as watchdogs (they'd tell you where everything of value was if they could talk), but they were my wife's choice - so there you go. Again, sorry for your loss. GXR

Thxs GXR I have 2 Siberian huskies left as well. Very loving dogs but your right, they would help the burglar if he came in.

My condolences as well. Dogs really become a permanent part of the family for too short a time. We had Peanut Butter for over twelve years and there was a big void when she was no longer around.

We can now understand where you have been. Hopefully we have been holding things down to some acceptable degree so that you can mourn and get through it without too much worry about the site.

Sorry for your loss of the dog, know how attached a person can get to them. Best dog I had always went with me in the pickup and truck. Went to move a truck load of wheat without letting him, he run in front of me, couldn't stop or dodge with a load quick enough, was a sad day.

Sorry to hear the sad news! Pets are like family and it's hard not to be upset. I still remember when I was young and my dog died on Christmas day!

It is sad to lose someone you care so much for . Those life long friends will always make you better . Some times the 4 legged are more a friend than some people . I miss mine too . Very Sorry C . L .
