Its a risky deal not being able to kick the tyres yourself, a trip to check it out would be nice, maybe catch up with friends stateside but business is manic, almost 24/7.............

The car looks straight & the seller checks out, tbh, I can live with the niggles & sort them here at my leisure, as long as LLC can give me a base idea, discount a wreck & confirm clear title I think I've at least attempted to cover my back..... LLC now booked for inspection Monday.

TBH. I recently purchased a new 2011 GT500 with every possible upgrade including SVT performance package from a Florida dealer & was extremely dissapointed on delivery with paint, stripes, interior, hood alighnment and car needed steering tracking but having left the US warranty was void.

Just part of the experience I think.

Thank you all for your help, will keep you posted

roger1197 very nice GT500!!

I have my eye out for a Mach 1 always, but if the situation pops up I'm totally willing to trade out of my 06 GT for any Shelby convertible. Almost did it last week but my payment was 100 bucks more than I can afford. If I can get into a Shelby for 225 a month, I'm all over it. So figuring it might be another 6-8 months until that's possible. Soon as 2013 is released.

I like my 06, but Id love to get into a 5.0!

Thanks for the comments all....SSig_number1

This 2011 is a blast with the new lightweight alluminium 5.4 motor, spins the rears in 1 thro 3 with traction control ON, gas mileage is reasonable at almost 30 (US MPG) with a gentle pedal but down to 12/14 when you play a little, plenty of tricks in the cockpit, handling is a big improvement with the SVT package, my only reservation is its very quiet after Ford invested in the noise & vibration reduction programme, currently under 2k miles so still time to loosen up some more. A friend has a 5.0, very nice & lively but if you can deal for a Shelby the extra $'s are well worth it. This is my daughter's car we traded an 06 Roush Stage 3 for, although I do get to clean and polish it after every outing and take the "odd test drive" to ensure all is well, the FGT in the last photograph is my Sunday driver.
Latest news on the M D Mach 1 is all good so far.

Thanks all

The FGT is a great daily driver! What do you have for a weekend car, or is that going to be the Mach 1?

Rockxtreme

Sorry, FGT Is my SUNDAY driver, never moves unless the weather conditions are perfect, which here is rare, OEM tyres are unsafe below 5 deg C, performance now at 780 hp FWRHP with SC pulley/exhaust/tune, owned from new & never had a problem with the exception of a new battery, the expected Mach 1 will be its "stable mate"
Daily is currently a "Eurocan" but a 2011 Raptor Supercrew shuoud be arriving at Southampton docks any day now which will be my daily for business use.................this taken couple of weeks ago at dealer in Florida..

Update on the Mach 1 in M D

Spoke directly with the owner/seller today, seems a nice straight up guy who has a passion for older 1960/70 cars but age related health problems forcing the sale, I particulary liked the conversation where he refused the LLC inspection guys appointment because rain was forecast!!!!! ........(LLC had already emailed me on this point).

AWESOME!!!!!!

Thanks all

Wow Roger!

It looks as though you have made a great purchase. How long do you have to wait to actually set you eyes on it? Or were you able to fly over and take a personal look at it before purchase?

Let us know what you think when you get it and send us some personal pictures.
