Welcome Klutch.

Looks like you are getting a good welcome and some good advice. Sorry I do not know of any Mach 1's to add to the list. There was a rust free 69 fastback in southern New Mexico for sale but it was neither a Mach 1, nor a 351W car. I'll keep my ears and eyes open for you.

Thanks for all the great feedback, guys.

I took a look at the Colorado Mustang site. They have a '70 Mach 1, 351C project car for sale. It's an original shaker car and the shaker even comes with it. But wow, is that car in rough shape. The rear quarters are rusted through. They're the experts, but I can't imagine such a car being worth over $8,000.

I may have something to contribute to the forum while I'm waiting for "my" perfect car. I'm pretty good with building and tuning engines. And since I've been driving a Mustang or Cougar since 1981, I've run into many of the typical problems that pop up with these cars. (Like when you're driving down the highway at night and the headlights suddenly go out.)

Klutch its all about being friends here, sort of like the Friday and Saturday night cruise ins we probably all go to. Its all about having fun and enjoying interest in the Mustang.

Ive belonged to a lot of Mustang sites, the one thing Ive noticed sometimes is people are just not friendly. Or because the webmasters want to prove a point of freedom of speech they let rude members run off the good members. I will never dictate what people are allowed to say here, as long as they are respectful, freedom of speech lives, if they are rude they can have freedom of speech elsewhere Jam

Kind of like if you cant say something nice say nothing. Laughing
So far in nearly 3 years only one person has been banned for rudeness. Hopefully it will never happen again but there are to many young punks on the internet that like to create issues. We will always weed those people out.

That's good to know. I've been a member of multiple forums on different topics; Disney, Woodworking, Urban Legends... I know exactly what you mean about rude people ruining it for everyone. I'm glad to hear you have a positive attitude and want to keep things friendly. I look forward to participating.

Keep your eyes open on Craiglist too. Every now and then you'll find someone in one of the more industrial burbs selling a driver.

If I see anything for sale @ the swap meet this weekend I'll get the contact info and send it to you.

Welcome to the ite Klutch

I was one of the lucky ones that bought a rustfree , semi restored 69 Mach1 several yrs ago , 2001 if I remember right. I bought mine at a classic car dealer ( Mustangs only ) in Ohio .
I paid $18,000 at the time and even financed it . I recently had it repainted and have replace the carpet and some other things ,
Anyhow , I think todays prices for the car I bought run around $30,000 to $40,000 .
I hope you find what you ar looking for .

"sort of like the Friday and Saturday night cruise ins we probably all go to" Mach 1 Club. That would be a nice thing to do. Back in Ohio we had a local one every Friday night. One (of the many) things I miss.
