A Little Bit of Color!
#1
Well, I had to be away from the forum for a bit but it was for a good cause. I was able to spend some time working on my car!

For most owners that might be nothing more than going to the garage but for me it entails traveling to another country! My family and I live in Mexico where we do missionary work and the car at this time cannot travel with us. I am not sure that it ever will travel this way in that I am not too fond of having it taken off my hands by some gun toting drug thug who happens to like it or some unscrupulous official who wants one of those.

Anyway I travelled to Tucson to meet the family and bring them back from an Ohio visit and had a chance to put in a few hours in on the car. The windshield and the back glass were out of the car when I purchased it so I wanted to take the channels down to bare metal and ready them for glass install. As you can see I am also planning on changing the color of the car. It was originally 6E (Medium Bright Yellow) , now white but I hope to go with 6C (Medium Yellow Gold).

It was good therapy! Now if I could only work on it more frequently than every other month!

When I was prepping mine for paint I found it hard to get too with it just sitting out in the garage; you gotta take advantage of any time you can. I like you tape job, pretty neat!

Thank you.

I was further south for a few days but am safely home again. On a non-Mach 1 note: I can be found at: http://www.mexicomissionariesofcbt.blogspot.com/

Yes, I enjoy the respite of the Mach 1 to work on. I will enjoy it more when I can enjoy driving it. Not sure what most will think when the missionary pulls up in a yellow 1973 Mach 1 but those that know me, understand. Notallthere

Hey, hey, hey.

Tomorrow we are headed north to handle some business in the U.S. I hate crossing the border either way but will be glad to be back on U.S. soil!

Saturday morning I have made arrangements with a church contact in the Tucson area who does automotive glass to help me install the new windshield! Tomorrow I am suppose to have a package waiting on me from Ohio Mustang with the new rear glass gasket and will install that as well.

So, I will be absent for a few days but hope to have some progress to report when I do get back. I get to see my Mach 1!

Home Sweet Home!

Well we made it out and back in without much issue and I was able to get both the rear glass and the windshield installed! I was able to take a few pictures and will try to post some in a bit. Another step closer to a drive in my Mach 1!

You can see pictures of the install now on this thread: http://mach1club.com/showthread.php?tid=2915
