Wow, that looks like a real nice place. I have never been to Rocky Point but some day I plan to get that way.
We live in Magdalena de Kino, Sonora, Mexico - known as Mafialena due to its notority as a drug warehouse. Things are every bit as unsafe as you hear but we are here following a Divine Purpose. Currently it is unavisable to stray from a very well traveled route and some of those are risky. Our town is basically surrounded but to date the main highway to Nogales is "safe" if traveled during daylight. Even then there are some notorious spots of constant activity.
Yes, Arizonans, especially this far north, are not especially well received. I openly support my state and it's right to prosecute those that break it's laws. I simply explain that we do not want to live under the same oppression on that side as has become the norm on this side.
Hopefully you will be able to confidently make use of your place again soon.

These are family ventures. The initial thing was to make good money and have a place in Mexico the family could enjoy, but with the drug cartels battling things out in Mexico it makes it unsafe for us to go there. Some people still go there, but we as a family wont.

Yes, well here I am in Mexico with my family right in the middle of it but Joe is right - not recommended. One benefit of living here is that you have a better idea of what is going on and where so that you don't go waltzing into something ignorantly. Not that that doesn't happen but ...
Anyway if I ever get over to Rocky Point I'll have to take a picture of your place (on the outside) to send along. Truth is we don't travel unless there is a need and the road between us and Rocky Point is one of those current hot spots of activity. Some of the towns along the way are points of no return. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy it all again soon.

The only thing I really miss about Mexico is the nice people and the Food!
I think the FDA in America ruins our food, Mexico doesn't have that problem, the food just tastes better!

I concur. We like the food. Although my grand daughter visited with us and was in the hospital with Hepatitis when she went home. A blessing in disquise in that while in the hospital they discovered she was born with some kidney issues so we can get that taken care of. "All things work together for good"
