Bullitt Chase Scene in 1/32 Scale

The chase scene from Steve McQueen’s Bullitt is generally regarded as the best automotive chase ever filmed. It stars (aside from Steve McQueen) a 1968 Ford Mustang fastback and a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T. The chase itself has been picked apart so many times over the years that it’s scary, but that’s only because it’s so iconic and was the first car chase that had audiences on the edge of their seats. There have been other great chases like the ones in The French Connection and The Seven Ups, but Bullitt was the first one to ever really capture the hearts and minds of car enthusiasts. Car lovers have seen this film hundreds, even thousands of times and some people (like me) have even gone so far as to buy a car based on the ones in the film. Yet there are others that seek to pay tribute to the film in their own special way. Meet Steve, a forum member over at Slotforum.com, he’s recreating the entire chase scene from the movie using slot cars in amazing 1/32 scale. You DEFINITELY want to click through for this one!

   
By using stop motion animation Steve’s goal is to have the project done by the end of the year. This is a massive undertaking considering he’s making all the buildings and street scenery from scratch. His attention to detail is astonishing and we simply can’t wait to see the finished product.

That's pretty cool. I admire people with the patience and expertise to create those types of scale models and layouts. Thanks for posting, I'll pass this on to my son, the Bullitt driver.
