another newbie, 72 Q-code in pieces
#1
I know no one cares about me, so lets get to the car. 1972 Mach 1, Q-code, which of course is 351-4v CJ. I bought it back in 2001. It had apparently undergone a rather pathetic restoration, which left it with an aftermarket 2 barrel carbuerator. My father and i put a little time and money into it before a marriage and kids ground our progress to a creep, and eventually a halt. That was in 2002. After 9 years of saying "one day!", I finally realized I dont have to be able to do the whole car all at once. I just need to get started. Right now we are in the process of stripping her down, researching parts costs, potential upgrades and such. The Mustang bug bit me again, and I cant think of anything else lately. Ill keep y'all posted! Oh well, lunch time. Time to go run home to check vin, and data plate to research............well, you get the picture, gotta go................

sgt_guidry,

Not entirely true. Welcome to the site. I am always interested in hearing the story about the Mach 1 which is people. Thank you for posting and I for one will be looking forward to hearing more about the car and its owner and seeing some pictures. Shoot include one of you with the car - owners come in all shapes and sizes!

Welcome to the Club from Virginia. We are interested in people too and their "story" of them and their Mach's. I worked on my 73 Convertible mechanically at first and kept it on the road until I had the funds for the paint and body work. That way I stayed interested while driving it too. Post up those pics.

Welcome from another Q code owner, mine is in pieces also. couple of things to look for. there should be an aluminum ID tag on the coil bolt. It should have a dual point distributor, there should be a 4 on each corner of the heads just below the valve covers if the heads are 4 bbl heads.

Ya well your wrong about us not caring about you. I believe what separates Mach1Club from the herd is that our members here are true "good guy" car guys. Luckily we haven't had to chase anyone out of here and I hope I never have to. Respect is the only thing that's tolerated here. After all it really is about the car and the enjoyment that car brings to the owner and enthusiasts.

I hope you enjoy your time here and please don't be shy, everyone is welcome here! Tell everyone you know about Mach1Club.com we like new members it keeps things fresh! Welcome2

We want pictures!! Big Grin

If I can do anything to help you or any of the members here please always feel free to call me or message me. I make zero off this site so its never about money to me!
