Previous Mach 1 owner, new to the Club

Hi to all.
My first car was purchased in 1979, when I was junior in H.S. age 17. A 1969 Mach 1, 428 Cobra Jet, Shacker Hood, 430 rear, 3 speed slap stick.
I loved the car, it had the maroon exterior, black interior. I had it 8 months until I totaled it. I know. I was a stupid reckless kid back then. I was racing a motor cycle. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Don't say it because I've played that image over and over in my head for years. Anyway I am trying to by another 69 Mach 1 and rebuild it to the one I had, which brings me to this site. I'll post some pictures of the one I think I'll want to buy, it needs total rebuild. Thanks for looking at my post.

The beauty of life is we live and learn. Don't beat yourself up to much I think we all have a story or 2 about the one that got away. Hell I'm almost 50 and still have those things going on Be patient you'll find what your looking for.

What a dream! What a past to live up to.

Makes me wonder why so many think that my children need new cars to drive instead of enjoying what we enjoyed. My first car was a 57 Chevy, my second a 1950 Plymouth with burnt valves when I bought it. Somehow I fixed it myself and drove it till by brother totaled it. My love of rebuilding my current projects has to stem from those early days.

So .. I have passed it along to my children. Child #1's project - a 1967 F-250 4X4, Child #2's - a 1963 F-100 to 4X4, Child #3's - a 1971 Maverick 5.0 EFI with 5 speed, Child #4'a (current project) - a 1967 Ford Ranchero. One more left at 9!
