Texting While Driving… DON’T DO IT!
#1

Ever drive down the highway and come across what looks to be a terrible accident? I know I have and in most cases they’re not as bad as you may have originally thought. As I was surfing around the net the other day I came across these astonishing photos on DodgeCharger.com of a Chevrolet Suburban that had a pretty wicked meeting with a guard rail in what is believed to be Washington State. There is not too much information on exactly what happened here except to say that the driver was believed to have been texting when the incident occurred. What’s more amazing is that no one was killed. Thankfully there was only a driver in the vehicle and no passengers.

Take a look at these photos for a moment and think about the true severity of this crash. The guard rail actually threaded itself through the Suburbans interior, taking out the passenger seat as well as the entire rear compartment. One also has to wonder how fast the driver was actually going to have created such a severe impact. I’ve seen a lot of accidents and accident photos in my time, but never anything as amazing as this.

That reminds me of an accident back when I was in high school in the early 70's. A classmate of mine was riding in a conversion van and the driver hit the guardrail. Not sure of the cause, but the guardrail went through the guys chest and killed him. I don't think they were burying the end of guardrails then like they do now as a safety precaution.
