Installing Mach1 C-Pillars
#1
Items Needed

* Mach 1/Bullitt c-pillars
* Mach 1/Bullitt c-pillar Glass
* Philips Head Screwdriver
* Ratchet Drive (1/2", 3/8", and/or 1/4" and extensions, swivels, etc)
* 11mm socket (won't be exact but... 7/16 if you don't have metric)
* 9mm socket (won't be exact but... 3/8 if you don't have metric)
* t-50 torx bit
* t-20 torx bit
* 3M weatherstrip and gasket adhesive (1 tube)
* knife (a sharp... exatco, razor blade, pocket, etc)
* hand towels
* water

How-To

* Step 1:
Remove the interior plastic c-pillar/panel around the quarter window.
1. Remove the seat belt bolt [t-50 torx].
2. Remove the coat hanger [philips screwdriver].
3. Remove the panel.
o There are three plastic fasteners (tiny push-in trees) that help secure the piece to the body. If you cannot pull the panel straight out, note that the "trees" are slide into half circle holders in the panel and by BEING CAREFUL, you can pull the panel down and away, then out and the panel should come off.
4.
o Option 1: Move the panel out of the way (i.e. tack some slack in the seatbelt, and place it on the rear window deck) and continue with Step 2.
o Option 2: Take out the rear seat (do the following)
1. On either the driver or passenger side, feel where the seat meets the carpet (around the middle of the seat, on that side) to find a plastic holder.
2. Push the pin on the holder.
3. Repeat for the opposite side (driver or passenger, opposite of side in 1).
4. Remove the rear seat.
5. Unbolt the seatbelt mount [t-50 torx].
6. Slide the interior panel out of the way.

* Step 2:
Remove the weatherstripping above the door window.
1. Remove the 2 pushpins on the door jam.
2. Pull the weather stripping off.

* Step 3:
Remove the weatherstripping holder (black U-shaped channel).
o NOTE: I removed all the screws but the one near the door hinge, but feel free to remove them all.
1. Remove the screws [t-20 torx].

* Step 4:
(Partially) Remove the a-b pillar.
o NOTE: I removed the 3 screws closest to the c-pillar, but feel free to remove them all.
1. Remove the screws [philips screwdriver].

* Step 5:
Remove the c-pillar.
o From the interior...
1. Remove the 5 nuts [11mm socket]. Here is where a swivel, attachments, etc. come in handy.
o From the exterior...
1. Pull the rear of the c=pillar out from the car (it's held into the uni-body by a pushpin).
2. While holding onto the c-pillar in one hand, grab the a-b pillar in the other. Slide the c-pillar up (from looking like -- to looking like -_) from the a-b pillar, once it "unlocks", "push" the c-pillar away from the a-b pillar; now it's removed.

* Step 6:
Remove the c-pillar glass.
o From the interior...
1. Remove the 4 nuts [9mm socket].
o From the exterior...
1. Gently pull the glass away from the unibody and using the knife, cut the butyl compound that also is holding the window to the unibody.

* Step 7:
Install the new Mach 1/Bullitt c-pillar glass.
1. Using water and a towel, clean the area under the c-pillar (at the VERY LEAST, clean where the window will go).
2. Follow the instructions on the 3M weatherstrip adhesive box (clean the old compound off the window, apply adhesive to the window AND the unibody, wait for some period of time, and now continue).
3. The reverse of Step 6.

* Step 8:
Install the new Mach 1/Bullitt c-pillars & Reattach the a-b pillar.
1. Alternate between the reverse of Step 5 & Step 4 in order to ensure that the a-b pillar and c-pillar line up at the roof.

* Step 9:
Reattach the Weatherstripping holder.
1. The reverse of Step 3.

* Step 10:
Reattach the Weatherstripping.
1. The reverse of Step 2.

* Step 11:
Reattach the interior plastic c-pillar/panel around the quarter window.
1. The reverse of Step 1.

Enjoy your new addition Big Grin

Ya pictures would have been great, but unfortunately there were not any from the source I got this from. Sometimes when I find something on the net I just add it so its in one place for everyone. The long term goal of this site is to be the number one source for all Mach1 and Boss Mustangs. I'm thrilled with the progress so far, glad to see there are Mach1 and Boss nuts like me!
