Autoblog has reported that the chief test driver for Toyota and Lexus has died in a crash on a German highway near the Nürburgring. Hiromu Naruse, 67, was driving the prototype Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition seen testing on the ‘Ring in recent days.

The crash occurred on a limited visibility left hand corner near the track. According to police, Naruse strayed from his lane and into the path of a BMW driven by two test drivers. Both occupants of the BMW received serious injuries in the crash.
