I am excited about this web site. The more I look around the higher I put it on my Favorites list of Mustang sites.
My name is Gene and I am in Phoenix. I grew up in a body shop and thru the years I have had 2 '65 coupes, 2 '66 coupes as well as an 85 GT. All of them were sold many years ago. Today, I have a 1972 Mach 1 that is being restored in Texas. A bit of a story there. Anyway, when I am in Texas I do the restoratioon work but otherwise my Father is doing all of the heavy lifting.
We have a 72 Q code Mach 1 we bought about 3 years ago. Traditional story of the car being in pretty bad shape. The front end had been replaced with a '73 (I have since removed that) and the engine also had been replaced with a 400M engine (yeah the Cobra Jet engine is gone). It has since been stripped down - front completely removed and discarded. Anyway, we are slowly, painfully slowly, rebuilding this car. It is a labor of love and with no intention of selling the car, it will be a restomod effort. I love the outside of the car so that will be pretty much the same except we have already shaved the door handles. The interior and engine will be updated and I will share that as it comes to fruition. Anyway, it is a fun project and I am excited with today's options and technology out there to really help me create My Mustang. I am looking forward to visiting here often and getting ideas and guidance.
