Any male who is under the age of 30 is most likely familiar with the television series Street Customs. This series features the guys from West Coast Customs doing specialty one off custom car builds for the rich and famous in Southern California. Started by entrepreneur and custom car guru Ryan Friedlinghaus in 1993, West Coast Customs has grown in strength and size to a company that not only produces automobiles, but apparel and merchandise as well.
It has now been reported that former Shelby American president Amy Boylan has taken the helm of West Coast Customs to ensure the companies future growth and success. According to Ryan Friedlinghaus, West Coast Customs CEO: “Amy fit right in with my crew because she’s a car enthusiast like us, and like us, she believes that you need to balance creative, irreverent ideas with smart business practices”.
Boylan has previously worked with West Coast Customs back in 2006 when she helped them created a one-off Shelby Mustang GT and prior to that she held the title of Senior Vice President at Mattel and was responsible for the companies Hot Wheels toy cars division.
