As you may know already, back in December Ford launched the 2011 Ford Mustang Boss 302R, a new car which was going to be used by its customers only for racing. Priced at $79,000, the car uses the 5.0-liter V8 engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission and due to the fact that it’s a racing-only vehicle it comes with a roll cage, race seats, safety harness, data acquisition and race dampers/springs, as well as a Brembo brake and tire package. Now the word is that at a recent dealer conference, Ford Executive Vice President Mark Fields said that: “We did the Bullitt, we did a Mach 1, we did the C/S. I can’t tell you what the next special edition Mustang will be, but I can give you a hint.”… and then a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang drove across the stage. After this, Fileds said: “Is that a subtle enough hint?”. So, expect a road version of the 2011 Ford Boss 302R soon!
