Cool Cool Welcome to the Club. The 15 GT was a great car. What makes the New Mach1 so much better? That makes 3 of you guys with the new Mach1. Com'on guys spill the beans, and tell us more, we're dying for some info here. LOL  Laughing I'd usually say lots of good info here. But when it comes to the New Mach1. It's all on you guys!  Wink

Well you are right, the 15 was a great car! I wasn't in the dealer to buy the Mach 1, actually I was looking at trucks!!! Then I started talking to the lead salesman about the mustang, and how they were going to stop making them (read it on internet)! Then I started looking at the Mach 1 a little closer, could it be an investment, as it was supposed to be a limited production model. The salesman, then said that this one was "loaded", that he ordered it with all the modifications, as he believed if someone was that interested in buying a Mach 1, it would have to have all the bell and whistles! SO, being sucker I am, I brought it :>)!
I only have 350 miles on it, haven't tested it yet, but I will say that the acceleration is a lot smoother than the GT! I have the RECARO leather racing seats, so you can move them back and forward, and adjust the back fwd/bk, to me that is the only downfall so far! I did put limo tint on the windows, which I believe adds to the appearance.

Definitely has an Attitude about it. I see you went for the stick. When we bought our 2008 Mustang, My wife, and I wanted a stick. I told her the local dealer had one, and she needed to test drive it to be sure she liked it. Well as it turned out it was an auto, and when the dealer heard she was set on a stick he started picking at her, (bad idea) as to why she wanted a stick. After a couple minutes. She looked him dead in the eye, and said you know why they put automatics in Mustangs, So Pussy's can drive them too! She said he needed a fork lift to pick his jaw up off the ground. LOL! I only wish to God I could have been there.  Cool

Manual is the only way to go, my GT was a stick also...you get more from the engine I believe, if you use it right! Sure would not have wanted to be in that dealers shoes, when your dropped gears on him! :>) Laughing
My only issue with the stick in the Mach 1 so far, is it seems a lot stiffer, and even though the display tells you that you are in gear, it doesn't feel like it. Sometimes it even pops out!  Confused

My 08's 5spd was stiff, and notchy when we got it. It had 7.3 miles on it when I sat my butt in the seat. So I thought give it some time it'll loosen up. Well 2nd gear didn't, upshift was good, but downshift it would lock itself out about 2/3 of the time. I read several articles about it, and no one had really found a fix for it. Not even Ford. So being the old school ASE certified Tech that I'am. I changed the fluid in the trans, mostly to see if it had any flakes etc. in it. I filled it with the regular fluid, and added a 1/2 cup of Lucas oil stabilizer to it. I didn't want to use to much, and make it thicker as I believed that would complicate the problem. It was like Magic! The trans shifted way better then it ever had. Everything worked better, smoother, faster. I could now do full throttle shifts, without getting locked out occasionally, and the downshift problem was gone forever. It was the easiest fix, and didn't cost a lot. I had about 50.000 miles on it when I did this, so the trans was well broken in. The difference it made was phenominal. We kept it till it had 225,000 miles, when we traded it. I'd let it get a few miles on it, then maybe give it a try. what have you got to lose. Hope it helps.

Appreciate the info, I don't have the problem when downshifting, just going up through 1st & 2ndGears, I am by no means any where close to be ASE, let alone a back-yard mechanic Wink, however I do know a couple. So if it doesn'  t improve (with wear) I might try it! Besides that it is an awesome vehicle.

Well, I have had the 2021 Mach 1 for a couple of weeks now, have about 1000 miles on it! It drives like a dream, accelerates really smooth. My only issue is the RICARO leather racing seats (quite stiff)that came with it, adjustments aren't the same as electric seats! Which are causing troubles with the shifting leg. Might have go to an upholsterer to see if they can do something with it!
Also brought a tail light sequencer unit from American Muscle which I had purchased for previous stangs, it wont fit the MACH1, even though it says all up to 2021, MACH 1 is the only one it wont work in! Just for info!
