Welcome!
I like your history with the car.
We have quite a few vocal 69 owners who will be a great source of help and information. They will be along shortly.
Please keep us posted with your decisions and updates.

Welcome to the site! I like the car and your story...so far. I am not a purist either and modifications from stock for performance and safety purposes are cool with me. BUT, I have to admit I am not a big fan of 18 inch rims on a classic Mustang. Can I talk you out it? All kidding aside, its your car you can do what you like. If it were mine I wouldn't choose those tire and rim sizes. I am looking forward to seeing more pictures and this time don't let the girls get in the way! When I was in my teenager in the 80's I sold my guitar so I could get a car. The girls back then liked guys with fast muscle cars!
Almost forgot, whose the 66 Mustang Fastback belong too?

I am concerned about the 18s. The 17s have the same outer diameter as the stock 70/14 tires but they look way too small for the wheel well. What I would like are 55/17 but am having trouble finding them anywhere at a reasonable price and not being truck or low speed tires.

My personal take on wheels/tyres is the largest option for the year, on year appropriate rims.
The 'look' of a 60's - 70's car resting on 2015+ rims fitted with tyres that loot like they were painted on just does not do it for me.
I do envy your painting skills, though.

II just found this vehicle during a court ordered eviction and curious if anyone can help me better understand what I have:) I did a little research and what I was able to find looks to confirm some of the facts about the car. Any insight is greatly appreciated .

I keep getting this error when trying to attach pictures
Please correct the following errors before continuing:- The file "36DAA66B-7D3F-4FEA-A3A1-68D8E74A3E6E.jpeg" is too large. The maximum size for that type of file is 2500 kilobytes.

You'll have to figure out how to downsize your pictures. Unfortunately I'm not the guy who knows how to fix that. Rebuild you 4 barrel carb yep I can do that, but downsize the pictures, Nah! Sorry
Somebody will be along shortly to help out.
Oh by the way Welcome to the Club!!!
