Hi
Ive installed a grant steering wheel, but I cant get it properly aligned when the wheels are straight. Is there any trick ? any marks to check or so ? Its a complete kit with steering wheel and adapter etc.
The old wheel was aligned properly, of course Ive should have make a mark..

There are several different ways.
Here's one I found to work pretty well. Pull the car straight forward for about 100ft. Take a piece of tape, masking tape will do fine, put one piece on the dash and one on the steering wheel in line with each other at the straight up point of the steering wheel. Now figure out the straight up point of the steering wheel itself and put a piece of tape there, now simply pull the steering wheel and align the straight up point tape on the wheel, to the tape on the dash. the original tape on the wheel should now be to the right or left of center, indicating that you have actually moved the steering wheel. If that doesn't work the other method I use is simply putting the wheel on and leaving the nut loose so I can remove the steering wheel without a puller and simply drive the car in a straight line, pull the wheel, and move it one way or the other, then drive forward and see if it's straight. I continue to do this till it's straight, or as close as possible. it could take several tries, so a deserted road, parking lot, etc would be a good place to work this out. Hope this helps, cause as you know nothing is ever perfect. Good Luck JTS 71 Mach1

Here is a video (part 1 & 2). I don't think they address the alignment issue but may be helpful to you for some ideas.
