distributor vacuum advance part nbr - SteveO_71 - 09-25-2020 I would like to find the part number for the dual port distributor vacuum advance canister for my 71 Mach1, 351c 4V. I want to buy an NOS part as opposed to the generic repro part that is typically sold. I know the base number is 12370 but dont know which letters are on the front i.e. D1FZ,C8AZ. I thought they were pretty much interchangeable between years and were the same as long as they had 2 ports. However, in reading, it sounded like the more performance cars received a different calibration of vacuum advance. Is this true? Hoping that someone knows the answer or can check an original part to verify the part number. Thanks! RE: distributor vacuum advance part nbr - 1969_Mach1 - 09-26-2020 I don't know what part number you need. Maybe try Perogie Enterprises n New Jersey. They specialize in Ford cars of this era and might at least have a good used original part. Their website doesn't list the entire inventory. You need to call them. Original is great, but if it were mine, I'd consider a single diaphragm vacuum advance for it. Crane offers several. I might be wrong, but if I recall, one port on the dual diaphragm vacuum advance is to retard ignition timing at idle. Just my 2 cents. Somebody else here will probably know more about them. RE: distributor vacuum advance part nbr - BLACK JADE 69 - 09-28-2020 Do you have your distributor stamping number? If you could give me that, I can check my Ford catalog. RE: distributor vacuum advance part nbr - BLACK JADE 69 - 09-30-2020 [attachment=13135] I need last 2 letters also on that stamping please to get proper parts list. Thanks, Joel |
