Exhaust Manifolds - rootdl - 09-17-2020

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the exhaust manifolds for an automatic and manual transmission on a 1970 Mach 1 with a 351W?

I am working to try and put mine back to somewhat original.

Thanks in advance!
Dan

First  SSig_welcome4 to the Club! Lots of good info, and good people here. Enjoy the site. One of our members, 1969 Mach1 (Mike) should  be along shortly, and will most likely have the answer you're looking for. From what I can remember I believe the DS. manifold was different, due to the clutch linkage, the passenger side manifolds, I believe were the same. Mike should know for sure. Good Luck, and again Welcome. Cool

The exhaust manifolds were the same for both automatic and manual trans cars.  If you have a manual trans car it looks like the drivers side should be different, but it wasn't.  For a manual trans car, the exhaust just squeeze's in there between clutch linkage and the steering box.

Way to go Mike. I knew you'd know the answer.   Cool  That had to be a very tight area, as I remember you also have that steering valve assembly on the drag link, in that general area, as well. Talk about tight!  JTS
