Thanks for sharing this. I ran a juice cam in my '73 Mach with a '71 351C and a 4-speed toploader. On the street with 3.00 gears it wasn't too bad but on the track I ran into problems. Sometimes I ran gears as high as 4:56 - when I had access to slicks. It had a stock oil pan and the pump would empty the pan pretty quick. What I SHOULD have done was either use a bigger pan AND supply external drains on the rocker covers (this was actually common practice back then) or switch to a solid cam and restrict the oil going to the top end. This article confirms what was going on and also presents another option (the external feed line). Good news because I'm going to run into the same issues with my new Mach - a '71 with a 4V 351C.
