I am early in the process of restoring a ‘71 Mach 1 (just finishing up sheet metal work) and have the car pretty much completely disassembled. My intent is to use it as a weekend cruiser, not a show car. I am looking for opinions on what to do with the wiring. Harness looks ok overall (needs a few issues addressed), but we are talking a 50 y.o. car that hasn’t been running in about 25 years. Should I go ahead and just replace the entire harness while I have it apart? If so, any recommendations on which harness to get?

Thanks!!
Well I'm going on the if you can afford it, replace it thought. Cause if it has issues, it will be nothing but a nightmare. I've replaced harnesses a couple times and while a major pain, when finished and everything works. The smile is pretty hard to wipe off your face. I'm sure there are several brands available, Painless comes to mind. I would look for the one that's OEM manufactured. as in it is said to match the OEM harness. Not new old stock as the wires would still be 50 to 60 years old and brittle. Just my thoughts hope it helps.
