Its has been years (20 unfortunately) that I have been restoring my 69 Mach 1. The time line was the cause of a lazy body shop. But I am now in charge of the re assembly of the car. (Real quick, I have owned this car since I was 17, I am now 51, I was driving it daily when I decided to restore it).  I took it from the body shop and sent it to a local race engine shop to get the engine running, trans installed, driveshaft and exhaust installed. Basically get it up and running. Now I have it in my sisters garage working on it because I don't have a garage. The issue I am constantly running into is trying to remember how everything was on the car when I took everything off.  I did all the upgrades 20 years ago, frustrating, because I basically have to repurchase and install new stuff that was new 20 years ago with no mileage on any part.
I have started to work on the doors and the glass installation with the wiring. The glass rolls up nice and easy. I have years of messing with these doors and glass and they are not fun, but once you get it, don't mess with them.
I converted the 4 drum brakes to 4 wheel power disc brakes, all new interior, carpet, headliner and installing the new 3 point seat belts. I also installed the Sniper EFI system to allow for better running. The suspension is slightly upgraded with a rear sway bar and subframe bracing. This car will handle much better than it ever did from the dealer.
I have also made the side scoops functional too air my rear brakes when I drive around. I have been wanting to do this for years to make these scoops functional. The cool factor will be very high just to have them.  i have also tinted the windows because I don't have A/C, I just want all engine, all horsepower. I don't even have power steering. that may be something I invest in later now that I am not a young guy any more.
I am also going through the wiring behind the dash and with the wiring schematics and online videos, it has made the task a little easier and less of a hassle. Still confusing though.
Here are a couple of pics of it.

Time to get this car done!! Will keep updating on progress.

Wow 20 years, is a long time, I've been working on my Jacobra for about 5 years. I have gotten a lot done, but no where near what I think I should have. Life happens to damn often, there's always a birthday, or gathering for one reason or another, so if I get 2 days in a row to work on it. It is a rarity. Yours looks very good for something done 20 years ago. Having to replace a bunch of stuff due to age sucks, but don't give up. One day you'll have the Mach1 you always Dreamed of, and you'll even be able to drive it. LOL!  Cool

Hi Cool car. I had the shocks in the front professionally shorten to lower the front. Handles a lot better. Maybe an option for yours

Well I will have to drive it first to get the front springs worked in so maybe they will lower down. If that doesn't work, then I will either order new lowering springs or just cut the springs by one spring coil. I know about life getting in the way, so I try any day, or time I get a chance to work on it I do it. I'm going through it pretty good and making sure everything works. OH We OH, more work to do this weekend.  Thumbup
Nice car!  Is the front sitting that tall with the motor and trans in it?  If so, what front springs are installed? Because, it won't settle down far enough.

The springs in it are stock type springs, supposed to be the ones that replace the old springs. Yes the motor and trans are in the car now. I will drive it for a few times to see if the springs will relax some, if they don't I will either cut the springs down an inch or just order new lowering springs. the springs have been in the car new with no weight on them over the long time of being worked on. Also there is no interior installed yet.
They will come down some once the interior is installed as it's amazing how much that stuff weighs. That being said it still may not be enough? Only time, weight and a few mile will tell, keep us appraised. You could always add a couple pounds of concrete to the front end???  Laughing

That's funny, Concrete, just like old school Nascar.
I have an update!!!

My Mach 1 is finally on the road. The interior was installed, all wiring was fixed or replaced, new radio, and windshield installed. The issue I have now is getting the gauges to work. It's great to drive it again, everyone stares at it going down the road. Half the people don't even know what kind of car it is.
Cool Cool Deal, and man do I love that color. I think you got a little to much spring in the front end? Unless that's the look you are going for? Everything else is beautiful. Good Job.  Thumbup
