So this story starts in April of 1993. My dad Jim gets a call from a storage unit that they have a Mustang in unit 101 that the rent
has not been paid on, would he be interested? He gets there and sees a 69 Mustang nose sticking out and the rest of the car
is buried in boxes, etc. How much do they owe? $300, I will give you $200 and get it out of here today. Sold. So here he comes
with a 69 fastback on the trailer to the parts store where I am working while going to college. How much did you buy this rusty
turd for? $200. I will take it off your hands, I have always wanted a 69 fastback. No, I'm going to part it out and make some money.
I open the door but it's body 63C a Mach 1. Damn it give me your money but we will be doing this all original or we are not doing it.
Now somewhere is some pictures of before and during shots but I will have to post them later when I find them. Next few years is
spent replacing all floor, rear frame rails, inner trunk, and tail light panel. Then 2009 lose both parents from cancer within 2 months
of each other. 2010 I buy childhood home and start on a bare shell of a 69 Mustang. It's been a long haul but I am seeing the finish
line finally. You will notice in the first show picture no stripes on the car. I just brought it home with the stripes and rocker chrome
added. So with a few bugs to work out and some weather strips to put on I made it. THANKS DAD!!

Forgot to mention the storage unit is still there and that is where it was in picture #2
Wow! all I can say Is Wow, What a Story, What a Car, WOW!!!

It's absolutely Gorgeous. For the amount of work you mentioned, I get the feeling it must have been about as Bad, as Eric's (Mister4X4) was.

Thank God for our Dad's! As they lead us into all kind of things, It's great you were able to finish it. A lot of the time when a Tragedy like that happens you lose heart in it, and it never gets done. Good Job,and every time you look at her. Just smile, and Say a Prayer to God, Thanking him for giving you such a great Dad!!!!

Beautiful Car.

What a great story and great looking car!  What was the connection between the storage unit and your dad?  I am curious how he got the call about the car.
That is a beautiful car.  I've always liked that color.
No connection. Dad was kind of locally known as the Mustang guy and somebody gave them his number. Not to long after
getting the 69, a place in town called him and said we are expanding the business and have a couple of garages to tear down,
do you want the 70 Mustang coupe that's in one? I have the window regulators with the bolt in glass brackets in my car Wink
and yes the car was from eastern Iowa / western Illinois area so very rusty. I don't think as bad as Mister 4x4 but we did have
to extend the new floor pans and fabricate extensions to the new frame rails to get rid of all the rust.

Wow!  Gorgeous car and great story!  Sorry to hear about your parents - I'll bet your Dad would love what you're showing us.  I'm sure he's smiling down on you thinking, "Best $200 I ever spent."

On a sadder note we lost my brother on September 29 this year 10 days after his 52nd birthday. He just could not
fully recover from his surgery. Thank you for the prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  I have definitely had your brother and your family in my prayers since out time and conversation back on August 10th.

I do trust that through the hard times that have passed that you did indeed find the comfort of God and that in the hard times yet ahead that you will also know His love and presence.  I will continue to pray with you and your family.

Thank you for sharing your heavy burden with me.
