Hello,
New member here and this is my first post. Hoping I can get some help on this any some future questions. I made the mistake of buying a car that was already partially disassembled and now I am trying to put the pieces back together. Can anyone show me how the package tray attaches to the rear seat back support? Are these supposed to be screws or bolts and nuts?  The bottom portion of the back support attaches with 3 screws and they fold down. I'm a bit confused here because it appears as though the seat back folds down but I don't see how that could be being that it attaches to the tray?  Thanks, Rob
If it is a fold down rear seat, it does not use a package tray.  To close of the area to the trunk there is a trap door that hinges on the top, latches on the bottom, and can be opened to get more storage area.  Then there is a thin filler panel to go between the bottom of the rear glass and the top of the trap door.  From your description it sounds like you have a mix of parts, some for a fold down rear seat and some for a stationary rear seat.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not 100% sure what it's supposed to be. It I think it's just a standard fixed back seat with the package tray.  The seat back is secured at the bottom with the triangular hinge and three screws each. How does the top of it secure to the package tray?  I'm not sure why the picture I posted does not capture the image and it's entirety.   Would you happen to have a picture of this area?
My 69 Mach 1 has a fold down rear seat.  I'll look through my repro Ford service manuals and see what information is there.  I also have a small assembly manual they probably has some small illustrations in it.  I'll look at that as well.

My 1969 Mustang reproduction service manuals did not show details of the rear seat and package tray.  My Mustang Illustration Catalog has one diagram of that area of the interior.  The diagram is small so as best I could determine is there are sheet metal screws attaching the package tray to the rear seat back.  Here is a link to the book I have.  National Parts Depot sells it.  It has a lot of diagrams.  But they are not very large.

Thank you. I really appreciate your help.
I'm chasing up a similar question. I think you have a fixed rear seat same as mine.  On my 69 mach 1 I have two trim pieces that hold down both ends of the front of the package tray.  I think there is suppose to be another trim piece that looks like a metal rail going along the length of the rear seat and holding the entire front side of package tray. see picture attached.

Anyone know where i can purchase this trim?
