I am unable to determine the color code for my newly purchased 71 Mach1 Conv.

Can someone help me out ?  Thanx in advance.

Also any other decoding info would be appreciated to ascertain my data.

Pls see photos attached herewith.
I believe that the above picture is of the data plate on the radiator support.

To find the factory color you will need the data plate on the driver's door.

If that is missing you will be able to research the specifics on the car using the VIN (located on the dash).

By the way .. there is no such option as a Mach 1 convertible - all Mach 1's were fastback body styles.  Not that you cannot create one!

Thanx for taking the time to respond.  Where in the door is the plate attached to, if I may ask ?

By the way, I was referring to my car as Mach 1 convertible not as an option, as many people do.

For ex.: https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0114-172831...nvertible/
The data plate is attached to the drivers door, just above the door latch mechanism. open the drivers door and look at the back edge of the door it should be in plain site. If not, God only knows what happened to it.

Actually, it's a decal on the door... not a proper 'plate' like some of the older models. [Image: wink.gif]

Here's a pic of what the sticker should look like - on the driver side door, just above the door latch mechanism.

If you order a Marti Report, you can get the same information, and even ask for a new decal (reproduction) if yours is missing.

And Steve, Come on Man - everybody knows that ALL '71-'73 Mustangs are Mach 1s.   Laughing  Drink_to_that

Thanx, Mine is probably under a newer paint.  I will order a Marti Report and ask for a new decal.
(03-26-2019, 11:07 PM)Color code you find behind drivers side head lamp. There is a metal patch. Code for Mach1 is 05 on the serial number third and fourth numbers. Wrote: [ -> ]
