Over the 5 or 6 years that I've been a member of this forum, one thing I've talked about endlessly is what block and heads are in my 72 Q-code. I've even written posts that contradict each other. I had the engine rebuilt shortly after buying the car. Recently I was looking through the file with my Marti report, reciepts, etc. Lo and behold I found where I had recorded the block # and head #'s while I was measuring the exhaust ports for headers. I am so glad I found these #'s, now, I just need to figure out what they mean. The block casting # is DOAE-L just below that is OH4. To me this looks like a 1970 casting (and likely 2 bolt mains). The heads #'s are left side DIZE and right side DOAE. So I'm guessing it's a 1970 engine with one head replaced. Are the heads likely to have small chambers? (shrouded valves) the heads both have the large "4" cast into the corners.
I look Forward to any and all input!
