getting ready for my spring projects

* upgrade cam
* fix passenger / driver windows
* align drivers door
Beautiful car....it is one of my favorite colors. It's nice that winter has been good to us here in the northeast. I have been taking advantage of warmer than usual temperatures as well and have already had my car out a few times this year and knocked off a few things on my punch list too.

I did notice your driver's door was off in the front so I was happy to see it on your project list of things to do. The back edge looks to align pretty decent with the quarter panel. When adjusting the door I like to watch the gap on the bottom edge of the door so it is even with the rocker panel all the way across. Be careful and don't open your door to quickly after making adjustments. You don't want to chip the paint. You may consider running 2 inch tape down the leading edge of the door as a precautionary measure.

It also looks like your hood spring is pushing the RH corner edge of your hood up. If you apply downward pressure in that corner does the hood go back down? My car did the same thing but oddly enough if corrected itself.

What cam are you upgrading to?

Thank you for sharing the pictures and keep us updated.
I screwed up the door myself when I first got the car by fixing the hinges and not doing a good job marking the hinges before I took the door off. The alignment has been a headache at best but I plan to give it another go. I already chipped the paint during the initial hinge replacement (never lived it down) but plan on touching it up. As far as the hood goes, another one of my hinge removals. That one I can get back down by loosening the hinges a bit and putting downward pressure when the hood is closed.

I ended up buying the xe262h after analyzing the #s a bit and determining where my car lacked. My car has good pull after 35/40 mph but figured I could use more off the line thrust. The xe262 gives nice low end torque. You can see I compared that against xe268h and stock cam below.

We have all been in your shoes at one time or another and no question about it that door alignment is not fun since there are infinite adjustments. Below is a link from Average Joe who I believe does a real good job of explaining door adjustments.

In regards to your cam choice there are definite gains in both torque and horsepower over the stock cam even in the lower power bands. I think you will be happy once it is installed!
