Mother nature has been very nice to us in the North East and have taken my car out a few times in March already. Below are a few shots of the car at a local park I used to hang out as a kid.

Please, share a picture or two of your cars or I will be forced to post a picture of a Chevy project I am working on with my son!

Boy you sure do know how to throw down the gauntlet!

Here's a few of my current project:

The 71 Maverick Project.
Steven, you must really not like Chevy's based on how fast you posted pictures of your project! Nice clean work so far. I also see a stick shift. Is the Maverick set up for a manual transmission? It's hard to tell because the opening seems small.

Next question, it looks like your carport has a dirt floor. Did you spray the car right there?
Life started out for me as a Toyota fan - born in Africa, raised on the FJ45 Toyota Land Cruiser. One indestructible, dependable jungle transporter!

Dad had a fellow older missionary who had a bright red 67 Chevrolet 4X4 pickup. My dad really thought a lot of him as a fellow missionary (dad's mentor) and consequently one of my hero's.

When I arrived in the U.S. (1979) I purchased my first car, a 1957 Chevy Belair as a project. I never got that on the road but through my uncle I bought a 1950 Plymouth which my older bother and I shared and he totaled. The funds from that purchased a 1970 GT Torino 351C.

To this day I drive a GMC Savanna van. Along with a Toyota Tacoma and a Ford F-250.

No, I don't "hate" Chevy's but their bailout deals with the government didn't help there position in my book. Yes, I would own a 65 Chevy pickup, a 67 Chevy pickup, I have always liked the 67 Nova's, a 69 Camaro, a 69-79 Corvette and of course the 55-57's.

As to the Maverick. My son and I took a 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree and converted it to a 91 5.0 EFI with 5 speed. I didn't figure the hole in the tunnel needed to be any bigger than it needed to be. It runs like a scalded cat!

My son ran it for a couple of years and then it made it's way back to me to do some paint work. Yes, I paint in the dirt. At first without the carport! I rent here in Mexico so I have to make do. I spray the area with water before I start and a few times in between to keep the dust down. I have to consider the weather, the time of day as well as the local traffic into my spray days. Needless to say, there are lots of delays but the paint has come out superb.

I need to re-spray the passenger quarter (contamination) and paint the black on the hood and I will be able to put it back together.

No I don't really hate Chevy's - Dodge, now that's another story! :)

Here's a few shot of working on my daughter's 88 Ranger with her.
Thank you for sharing the stories, memories and pictures Steven plus that is one tough looking Toyota. They sure don't build them like that anymore. Well you did mention the 69 Camaro so I am posting a picture of our father/son 69 Camaro Pace car project. It is not nearly the project my Mustang.
Some from tonight and I have added a couple of Chevys seeing as you all love them.

It's ok the Camaro in the second pic wasn't leaking oil everywhere he just took it through the car wash you can see behind him.

Nooooooooooo !!!!! not a Chevy anything but that. Not quite ready yet. The first cruise night in my area is Friday 4/1. If the weather is good it will be a good one. I still have lots to do.
SHAME SHAME SHAME !!! LOL. Bringing up Chevy's and then Showing Pictures! Anything done nice is cool but Chevy's / Camaros, on a Mach1 site? It's kind of like bringing a Knife to a Gun fight! JTS 71 Mach1

I agree with you with 100% but traffic (postings) on the site has been slow and I did warn everyone I would post a Chevy!

To make the site pure again I unapproved my photo of the Chevy.
Wow - that was drastic. :)

I'll add my other son's 63 F-100 project to help balance the fact that I added a Toyota and spoke of those other brands.
