Should the Marti report show the fold down rear seat option on a '69? Or was it included as part of the Deluxe interior? Mine has the fold down seat but the Marti report doesn't spell it out. Thanks. Dave R.
I have seen Deluxe Interiors with and without a fold down rear seat. That is interesting, I would think a Marti Report would indicate if the car had the optional fold down rear seat.

Regards,
Mike

I would think so to. Mine appears to be factory installed. Thanks. Dave R.
It seems your car was heavily optioned so it likely came with the fold down rear seat. But mine looks factory installed as well even though I installed it. The body has all mount tabs, brackets, etc. already welded in place even if the car did not have a fold down rear seat. So it's virtually impossible to determine by looking whether is was factory installed.

Mike

I was wondering if the factory installed the fold down seat mounting brackets on the non optioned cars.

I have seen many marti reports and they do specify a fold down rear seat if it was picked as an option. I am not sure if it was a part of an interior package. The deluxe interior dose not come with a fold down rear seat standard. All that being said it is really easy to install a fold down rear seat in a 69/70mustang that did not have a fold down rear seat. The body is set up for it all you need is a donor car, in about an hour you have a fold down rear seat. hope this helps regards john.

At the end of last years cruise nights circuit I found a guy that as trying to sell a fold down rear seat, we never got together due to weather change and I did not get his contact number. Hopefully I will find him this spring and I will have a fold down rear seat because they are COOL. hope this helps regards john.

Ok guys. Thanks. My question is answered. Dave R.
The fold down seat option will always be noted on the Marti report.

To install this option in your car like (I JUST DID), it takes days or weeks and NOT just one hours job.
The perfect alignment of it all will kill you with the gas tank in your vehicle.
Having your gas tank out of your car really helps being a grown man in a tight work area.
The re-carpet and install of the new chrome pieces on the panels alone took me two full days. Mine came out perfect by the way.?
Plus you will have to repaint all the interior panels the correct Mach 1 interior color.
I did my sail panels replacement at this time.
Then there is the new side latches to be aligned and installed, rear hatch alignment and rear side panels riveted into place.
The so called you tube video that supposedly teaches us how to do this is very sparse at best.
That video has lots of holes that with a better more detailed video could address and be better information.
This project of mine to put the fold down seat assembly into my (non-fold down seat) car was expensive, time consuming and tedious.
Plus I still haven't put the new stereo in yet to fill these holes the previous owner made by cutting the interior panels.
If I were to ever do this again I would put in the new kit sold by " Mustangstofear".
They sell a really cool modified fold down system that incorporates sub woofers in the rear panel and one piece headliner and side panels.
There is even an option for a headliner roof console for the 70 Mach 1.?

Good luck guys
Yes very nice. Looks fabulous. OK sorry what was I thinking ? Lets imagine. Back in the day. You were to find a donor car before it spent 20 years in the junk yard and the carpet, the chrome trim, all of the interior parts were in good shape, the correct color, not hacked up buy previous owner. All the tools you need. This is one important thing I forgot to add, a good friend, young and thin, that is just as familiar with mustangs as you are. To swap out all the parts and have a fold down rear seat on your daily driver quality car, before you head out for a cruise, ok maybe 1.5 hrs if there is a six pack of beer involved. lol That could possible be how you got a fold down rear seat in your mustang. You would have to take it apart to look for witness marks on all of the hardware and attaching bolts to tell for sure. When I go for mine I am totally sure it will take me a lot more than an hour. Because of the quality of the parts will be very used. No matter how long it takes the reason everyone wants one is. They are really cool. Regards John.
OK guys. Thanks so much for your input. I guess someone transplanted a fold down into my Mach 1 sometime along the the line as the Marti report doesn't show that as an option. Dave R.
