Hello All,

Well I finally got my 70 Mach 1. Been wanting one since College (late 70's) when I saw one burn a 200+ foot patch. Now I found exactly the year, engine, style, option and colore I've been looking for.

Unfortunately it's the middle of snow season here in Ohio so I have to wait a few more months before I can enjoy it. Looking forward to having a blast this summer and meeting many new friends.

If any of you have a suggestion on a great secure car cover that would be greatly appreciated. Need to purchase one and want to make sure it protects the car but also can prevent anyone from lifting the cover.

Thanks
Welcome to the club. Sounds like a great purchase, tell us more about it and share some pictures when you get a chance.
I'm no help on a cover as I have ours in a garage but I'm sure someone will be along with information soon.
Welcome MarkMac,

Great to have you here with us. Wow, so you have been waiting quite a few years to get your Mach 1. Congratulations.

Jump on in and share some more of your story with us as well as a few pictures of the Mach 1.

I just spent a few weeks in the Goshen, Ohio area with family over the Christmas and New Years. I saw plenty of snow and stayed cold.
Welcome to the site...glad you found us. I am glad you held onto that memory of the burnout and happy to hear you found the car that inspired you so much. Since it is too cold to drive it you could always show it off here with some pictures.

Welcome - Smiliegenerator_test6
Hi thanks for the welcome messages. It's a 70 Mach 1, red, 351 Cleveland, 389 rear, 4 speed, shaker, lovers, Power steering and brakes, AC and tilt steering. Just arrived today and is safe in heated storage for the rest of the winter. Unfortunately I have to wait a few more months before I can really enjoy it. Here are a few pictures.
Ah - very nice car and nicely optioned!

Evidently you purchased the car away from your area. Had you seen the car physically before or was today your first day?
Yes I did purchase it out of state but I did not see it physically before I purchased. However I did see a ton of close-up photos and videos plus verified the seller prior to making the purchase. Not the recommended procedure, I know, but in this case the car matched perfectly to what I was told and saw before we made the deal. Very satisfied, just wish I could drive it now.
I don't blame you for wanting to drive it especially with those options. The car is definitely a head turner. Very nice find!

It's winter so take advantage of the heated garage for the next few months. There must be some tinkering around you can do to get it ready for the Spring. Take the time to thoroughly inspect everything and familiarize yourself with the car. Kind of a bonding period. Stepping back and just admiring the car is fun too, at least for me!

Thanks for posting the pictures.
Yes, thank you for posting the pictures.

Mike has made some great points.

I think I would be inclined to load it in that nice trailer and take a drive to some warmer, curved road part of the country and enjoy a day with it.
