Do you remember when you paid 39 cents a gallon for regular leaded gas and the attendant dressed in white coveralls would check your oil and the air in your tires wash your windshield and to top it all they would give you S&H Green Stamps or even Blue stamps?
I remember when it was 32 cents and I turned in for refund a box of pop bottles to buy enough gas to drive 100 miles home from collage for the weekend.
Remember when you could identify a vehicles' make, model, and year from 2 blocks away? (Good eyesight not withstanding of course)
how about working at one station and being involved in a gas war at .19 cents with the one down the street,

I remember buying 4 brand new 60 series white lettered tires mounted and balanced for a hundred bucks and it took me almost a year to pay for em and by then I'd pretty much wore them out.

Yep, and if there was any argument amongst friends about the year, you could always look closely at the tail light lens to see the year in small raised letters.
