I live in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. My Mach 1 is a 1971, I have owned it since 1980, it hasn't been driven for about 20 yrs. I am just about to begin the restoration project.
Welcome.

Great keep since 1980!

Welcome, Here's to a good restoration. Lots of good info, and insight here as well as good people. Enjoy! Man I wish I understood why we all seem to park these cars and let them sit for 20 or 30 years. I wish I had one to drive the wheels off of. i don't think mine will see the garage very much, that is if I ever get it built. Sad I'm ashamed of myself. Cry JTS 71 Mach1

Have you seen the price of gas lately - that could be one of the reasons... Crazy

That and the fact that, at least for a while a lot of states had emission testing programs that required these cars to be inspected every year. That was NEVER fun.

If I knew then what I know now I'd still have the '73 Mach that I sold for $950. It had a solid body, a freshly rebuilt 351C 4v and a good 4-speed top-loader. It NEVER passed emissions and it got about 10 mpg but if I knew that car was going to be worth over 10 grand some day I would have probably stuffed it in a barn somewhere...

Welcome. Hope your restoration goes well. Post some pictures.
