Hi,
I just registered as a new member because I found some really good information on this site. Thanks to all those who posted before me.

I have an R-code 69 Mach 1 that will be going into the shop in Jan. It is get a complete rebuild to fix all the rust. I have until then to finalize my plans for any mods or improvements.

Hoping others on this site can provide advice on the do's and don'ts. Especially regarding repro body panels. I'm putting together a parts list and looking for best quality and prices.

Good luck Tad, looking forward to seeing the progress!
Welcome Tad.

Do you have a shop picked out?

Plenty of guys here have been down that road your about to travel and should be able to give you some good points.
Welcome to the site...One thing I can say about re-pop panels are the are more affordable than NOS but you lose some of the quality, especially with the sharpness of the lines. But if the panels are installed correctly a good body man can make them look good as the factory.

I know most re-pop panels are made in China but there are some made in Canada. The Canadian panels seem to be a higher quality.
Welcome good luck with the shop. JTS 71 Mach1
Hi and welcome.

+1 on the shop quality 'making' the job. Try and take pictures in the shop. Always good to have an album of 'baby pix' and the shop will want to get a good rap, knowing how interested you are in your car.

Any opinions on which site offers the best panels and prices?
I've spent a significant amount of time the last few days trying to decide who to order part from. I have a long list and it seems like none of them have all the parts I want, but NPD and CJ Pony seem to have the most.
For an honest opinion of quality and "in stock" availability you will want to contact Don Witt at Ohio Mustang Supply.

Don is more than just a salesman. He is an enthusiast, and the owner of the business. You will learn a whole lot just talking to him.
