Thank you for the welcome everyone.

One of our customers has a 1971 Mach 1, we sold him a 427 cid X head, Ford Motor sport crate engine which is based on the Boss 351 block. I am looking for some advice on headers and who makes the best fitting units, we have to run a long tube header's with this motor combination and a 3 inch collector. Does anyone have some advice or words of wisdom for me on who's stuff is the best? Have a great day everyone.
Cheers
Mack
Back in the day I had a set of Casler headers on my 71 Mach1. They were made by Hooker. When the salesman told me that, I said yeah right, Dodgy cause back then Hooker didn't make "street headers". When I got them home I pulled out the paper work and it said "Casler" a division of Hooker headers! Shock I was blown away. And they were cheap $79.99 even in 1979 that was cheap. My Mach1 had everything AC, Power steering, Power disc brakes, etc. The fit was amazing, they cleared everything with a solid 1" of clearence. Even the power steering box. I was amazed, as I remember all I did was pull the motor mount bolts and raise the engine 3 or 4 inches and slid them in. without unhooking anything, except the fan shroud, i pulled the 2 little bolts, and i just simply set in on the fan and let it ride. I had heard all kinds of horror stories of guys with headers that wouldn't fit, broke flanges, came loose etc. But I never had any problems. I retorqued them after a few hundred miles and forgot about them I drove it for 6 years and never touched them again. Thmbsup All I can Say is buy the Hookers and forget the problems.
Type in a few brand names into the search engine and see what you come up with.

John has tried both the regular Hookers and the Super Competition. His next set was Doug's.
I put a set of hooker competition on my 351c 1973 Mach 1 with ease. The only thing I didn't like is that the one on the passenger side the second bolt wouldn't fit even with the header in my hand off the car. #1 tube was too tight. I had to make a shorter Bolt. love the headers though. If I had the extra money I've would of got the ceramic coated ones.
