I was looking at a hood pin lock post earlier and didn't want to hijack his thread with this question.
How difficult is it to change a car from a non hood pin set up to one with them?
When I bought the car the hood had some rust issues on the underside of the hood so he gave us another hood he had got that he was going to use instead, but its a hood lock one that was ram air. The ram air stuff is out of it including the scoop pieces.
Can I just pull the scoops out of the original hood and put them in the new hood?

Thanks
T
Todd I believe that you are referring to a 71-73 NASA hood.

If both hoods are the NASA style hood then Yes. Everything is interchangeable. The hood pin location is all ready pressed into the hood and it will be a matter of centering the lock and cutting the hole.
Sorry my lack of knowledge made the question vague. I have a hood with the holes already cut. I was asking how hard it is to modify the engine compartment to make a hood pin hood work with a car that didn't have them prior
It is a straight forward bolt on application.
Todd I made a kit

Don my shopping list at your place just continues to grow. Thanks again. Now to just get the money and time to do all this stuff.

Besides all the help with questions, the used parts and new reproduction stuff, Don also has some real neat stuff too.

Your list may have just grown Todd - mine sure has!
That is pretty sweet but I have to pass all purchases through the committee chaired and comprised entirely by my wife. She doesn't believe in "cool stuff" so it is difficult to get much by her. The new hood locks are because the original hood is rusted in the engine compartment side and we already have another hood. If we didn't have the hood it wouldn't have been doable. She has had a firm hold of my money since I was in the Marines and deploying all the time. I haven't been able to wrest control of that back which is probably for the best.

T
Todd and son I have the same problem when it comes to control of financial resources and getting things through committee when it comes to cool. Wives don't seem to appreciate the value of cool.
My wife is the original owner of our 69 Mach 1 and sometimes she surprises me with oking thinks and even suggesting cool stuff.
