New here, But not new to Mustangs, I figured after 30 yrs I would get me another. Just picked up a 73 Q Code Mach 1. Thinking about changing it to a 71-72 with a 4spd.
Welcome.

Glad to hear that you are getting back into the Mach 1 scene after so many years away.

My Mach 1 is also a 73 and I do plan on making it a standard transmission car although the 73 stripe has grown on me.

Enjoy the site.
Thank You Steve,
I missed my yellow Mach 1 and Boss 351..Wow if I only had a clue as to what it really was back then...lol..But that's how we all learn..By the way Steve, Your name has come up a few times and hear many good things about you and your cause.. Kudos Brother!
Welcome to the site and back to Mustangs too! I have a 66 Mustang that technically I changed back to a 65. There are just certain thinks about the 65 I like better. And yes, only if we knew then what we know now we would of held onto our cars, baseball cards, record collections, and whatever. Hindsight is always 20/20!!

Double kudos to Steve!!

Welcome from Ohio
AHHH, yes if I only knew then- what I know know.
I would not have told Bill about windows Sad

To bad you are not closer I have a couple of toploaders and the other 4 spd parts you need
Don

Triple kudos to Steven
Thank you Mike and Don..I did keep my Album Collection..LOL..Anyone wanna buy "in a gadda da vida" ? LOL

Don..We should talk then..It helps to have friends in Amtrak for shipping..lol

Kidding aside Its great to have a stang back in the stable again, And it was just a few weeks ago during the 50th Celebrations that I started to remember the 20th at Griffith Park In Los Angeles. My Boss 351 was in the 20th lineup..I never got to see the overhead pic thou. The one thing I will never forget from that gathering was this completely insane Tiger with a Twin Turbo Boss 302 engine..
Here is my Mach 1 fresh from the Desert. Not one ounce of rust anywhere!!

The car looks great and looks like you have already made a connection with Don! Oh the memories listening to "in a gadda da vida" Sad they don't play it on the radio anymore Cry.
The thing that's bugging me the most with this car is that with the exception of the Intake,Carb,Drivers door and Fender this car is 100% original with original Numbers Engine and Trans. Was Yellow with Black interior and stripes. Not sure Converting her to a 71 4spd is the right thing to do..Only original once..But for the time being she will have to sit till I can Sell the 69 and 70 Cougars. Being Disabled and on SS makes it challenging
SSig_welcome4 Good looking Mach1. I vote for going the 71-72 route with a 4 or 5 speed. Sad to have to get rid of the cougars to build the Mach. But hey we do what we can do. Good luck just holler we'll help any way we can. JTS 71 Mach1
That does look like a very nice point of beginning.

How to build one is sometimes a tough call. For me since mine is an H code automatic and I really enjoy rowing the gears it is not too tough. Of course I am not completely there yet either.

Thanks for the recognition - What can I say, God has been good to us.
