I just bought my 2004 Oxford White Mach 1. When I was driving it home the shifter started to rattle in 5th gear at highway speed. When I let off the throttle the rattle would stop. Would this be the throw out bearing??
More likely sounds like a worn U joint. When you let off there is no pressure on the driveline and no rattle when you tighten everything up you bind the u joint and get the rattle. My guess is its worn but not compoletely gone , yet. JTS 71 Mach1
Sounds like it. There is also a noise when you turn into a parking lot or gas station I here a noise, like a rubbing noise. I thought it sounded like the tires rubbing on the inner wheel well.
