Hi my name is Paul. I'm in the beginning stages of restoring my father's 71 Mach 1. It's a C-code 429 CJ 4 speed. I'll probably need some advice once I get bit deeper in the project. Dad bought it right out of high school in 1975. It's sat in the garage for the past 20+ years do to my sister and I being born and his priorities changing. The least I can do now is help him get it to better then new condition so him and my mom still have time to enjoy it in there golden years.
SSig_welcome4 Sounds like a great reason to build a car. If it wasn't for the Love of are families and our cars, life would be pretty boring. Ask any and all questions as we're all friends here, and there is a lot of collective knowledge as well. JTS 71 Mach1
Welcome Paul.

What a great idea! The good news is that it can all be done and has been done by members here on the forum and they are happy to share their advice.

It will be great to get to know the project and watch the progress.
Pictures, man...we need pictures!

Hello Paul and welcome. Everyone is right this is a great source of information and knowledge and everyone shares well. Just post your questions. For what its worth when I restored a 429CJ cougar I had and helped my friend do his 429CJ Mach 1 I found a wealth of information including pictures for reference here (http://429mustangcougarinfo.50megs.com/) They have oather links on their site too just for 429CJ Mustangs & Cougars. Hope this helps and good luck, I should have never sold the one I had, but life happens you know.

Welcome to the site Paul. Restoring the car for your parents is a great idea and I am sure the memories it will bring back will be just as great as the appreciation factor! My parents have a 69 Camaro Pace car buried in their garage for 30+ years now. It would be neat to do the same for them one day but I would probably have to join a Camaro club for advice Sad

Please don't hesitate to ask for advice. There is great wealth of knowledge and experience here to answer almost any question.
Welcome to the site. My son's hasn't sat for as long as yours but we are in the same process. You probably know more about cars than I do, but you may see something in my noob questions that helps you out.
