I just got my 2003 MACH 1 on Monday. I had one 7 years ago, same car but it was an automatic and have kicked myself all that time for trading it in. This one is a standard and I have never driven a stick. But I can learn!
I saw a guy at the drugstore who had the car & told him if he ever wanted to sell it I would buy it. Turns out the guy was my husbands boss. Anyway he saw my husband about a month ago and told him he was ready to sell it. Only 7,000 miles on it. Well we had just bought a Chrysler 300 & husband said no way was he buying the Mustang. I actually cried over it. Anyway our anniversary came and I begged him to call the guy. I said I am meant to have that car I know he hasn't sold it yet. So to make a long story shorter IT'S MINE!!! I LOVE it. I'm getting better at driving it every day and although I have stalled a couple times and rolled back on a hill I have not yet ground any gears LOL. I love the sound it makes. I love the way it looks. I get an adrenaline rush every time I drive it. The car is absolutely pristine. Looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Did I mention I love my MACH 1.Biggrin
Looking at getting an OF05M 70 Mach 1 - M - 351-4v Engine, Grabber Blue with Shaker Hood and Hurst 4 Speed. The Marti Report indicates Black Hood Stripe, FMX Select-Shift, Shaker Hood Scoop, Power Front Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Air onditioner -Selectaire, AM Radio, Tinted Windshield. I'm guessing the FMX Select-Shift tells me it's not an original 4-speed. So does the 4-speed hurt or increase the value?

I haven't seen the buck tag to confirm, but he's advertised 63C - SportsRoof, Mach1, Deluxe Interior, J - Grabber Blue Paint, 3A - Black Clarion Knit / Corinthian Vinyl Bucket Seat, 6 - 3.00 Conventional Rear Axle.

The chrome tail light bezel is painted black, the horizontal chrome above the honeycomb and the honeycomb between the lights are missing. It also doesn't have the steering wheel with the circles. Those are the know flaws! He wants 29K and I'm sure that is high even though it has immaculate paint and sounds very, very nice., but what do you think? Thanks!
Welcome to the club Debbie! Great to hear your story of romantic bliss for your sweetheart. The Mach1 of course! Oh by the way say thanks to the Husband that got it for you, and have a blast. Drive it like you stole it! Thmbsup JTS 71 Mach1
Welcome Debbie,

Congratulations on the return. Personally I love a standard shift car and find them much more enjoyable to drive than the automatics. I think you will love the new one even more than the old one.

Anyway, glad you have had a second chance and are throughly enjoying it.

Thanks for jumping on board.
Welcome to the club Debbie! I am happy to hear your husband finally broke down. Like they say, if mom's not happy nobody's happy. If I were a betting man, I bet you will not go back to an automatic after driving a stick. Would love to see some pictures of your new Mach.
Debbie,
The more you toss that Mach around with that manual transmission, the more you are going to love it. There is just something addicting about a nimble car with too much power and a manual transmission that no automatic-equipped car can match.
Row the gears, wind it out and take the long, twisty way home...you'll be in heaven!
Great story and I'm sure you can't wipe the smile off your face while you are driving it or just looking at it. Only 7,000 miles; that's sweet!
[attachment=9503]Drove in traffic this weekend! SSig_goodjob What a rush! Sign0175 I think I am ready for a solo drive.
Car looks great! So, what are your thoughts, are you sold on the standard shift?
[attachment=9504]Given a choice i would choose an automatic. But I think after I really get used to it it would be a different story. Plus I don't think husbands should teach wives to drive a stick. LOL
