Just purchased 1969 Mach 1
Need help with the drivers and passengers windows
We need to restore them some say the glass is glued in.
Looks to me like there used to be rubbers there.
Can anyone give some advice
Welcome Mick,

I no longer have a 69 myself and it's been over twenty years (and many car windows latter) since I have worked on my 69 Mach 1 window. I don't clearly remember.

We have several 69 owners here who will be able to give you personal advice - they'll be along shortly.

You may also want to contact Don Witt at Ohio Mustang Supply as he will know and he will also have the various parts you may need now and in the future. http://www.ohiomustang.com/

Feel free to fill us in on more of the details of your Mach 1 and of your passion for it.
Thx Steven

We Love the car does need a bit of work we just had the rust repaired
in the front guards and the rear quarters.
They pop riveted wings on to the guards which seems to have partly caused the rust.
Now she is a bit patchy next we would like to get it road worthy
Need to fix up the oil leaks etc and windows.
The car has been shipped out from California to us.
The body seems to be in good condition.
We think the motor is a crate motor not to sure
Starts ok drove up the road put my foot down she shot flames out from under the bonnet scared the ---- out of me soon as you give it some boot.
The motor is a 351 Windsor has had some work done to it
We will eventually pull it out as we would like to clean it up.

Hopefully we will here back from someone soon.

Thx Mick

Sounds like maybe it still needs some work done to it. Flames from under the hood are never a good thing. How long has it been sitting? Sometimes if they have sat for a long time you can have problems like this. Or the timming may be off, lousy stale fuel, burnt valve, etc. Start checking the basics and holler at us if you get stuck we'll do our best to help. JTS71 Mach1
YOUR GLASS IS GLUED IN. I HAVE SEEN A MUSTANG MONTHLY ARTICLE THAT DOCUMENTS HOW TO DO THESE AND WHAT GLUE TO USE. THE GLUE IN GLASS WAS A PROBLEM EVEN WHEN YOUR CAR WAS NEW AND FORD DOES HAVE SOME TECHNICAL SERVICES BULLETINS ON THEM. FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN RESEARCH WISE SOMEWHERE MID 69 THEY SWITCHED THEM OVER TO BOLT IN GLASS TO GET RID OF THIS PROBLEM ALL TOGETHER. I PARTED OUT A VERY RUSTY 70 MUSTANG COUPE AND SAVED ALL OF THE WINDOW REGULATOR PARTS FROM IT, SO THATS WHAT I WILL BE PUTTING BACK IN MINE. GOOD LUCK TO YOU Biggrin
Thx Jade

I will do some research

same thing I done with mine converted to bolt in.
I just converted mine to bolt in. Cost was around 900ish. CJ pony has the complete set up. I got mine from Kentucky Mustang for $50 cheaper than CJ, he does not have a kit, need to buy the parts separately.

Thx Dave may have to save my Pennys for a while.

Although WCCC is a Cougar site, here is an excellent video about the glue in glass:
